Know When To Mow

By Neoma Archer

The lawn or the garden that you have right now is the best one for you. Sure enough, you will not say that another person's lawn or garden is better than what you have because you certainly have put in almost all the extra time and effort that you have just to have it looking like it is right now. But how do you maintain what you have and what should you do? Is it time to get those finances going to keep it staying that way?

The thing about having a lawn is that it is not just a simple thing that you can plant and just allow it to grow. The grass on your lawn needs love and care and a lot of your time. But it does not mean that you have to spend too much time on it that you neglect all of your other responsibilities. What you should be doing is to know just what exactly your lawn (and the grass that grows on it) needs so that you can attend to that and give them exactly just what it wants. If you do not, then you could not possibly have the kind of lawn that you have been dreaming of despite all the work and all the effort that you put into it.

So you still got the best grass that your town has got to offer. You did your research and you have found out that this is the best one that you can have compared to all other types that are available. And that is what you brought home to plant. But you still need to work on it. And the work starts by just allowing it to grow and still making sure that you are checking on its health. You have to check the soil that you have planted it on to see if it is the right one for them to grow in. You also have to see if the moisture content of the soil is enough or if you still need to add more water.

Another task that you should learn is just when you need to mow your lawn. When the cooler weather arrives, what you should do is make sure that you mow the grass more frequently compared to when you have a hot type of weather. Get your mower out and set it to the highest setting that you can. This should allow you to mow just enough but not too much that there is not much left there. This should be around 2 and a half to three inches long.

Doing the mowing the right way actually helps the grass (and the rest of the lawn that goes with it) a lot. There are benefits to doing that and this have not just been made up by people. See, when you mow your lawn correctly, you are helping your grass use a lesser amount of water compared to if you were not doing it right. Another plus is that you will also not have to worry about weeds that much because the grass will crowd the unwanted weeds out. So you get a green lawn that sure is healthy. - 30228
